Auburn provides a perfect setting mixing rural living with the serene beauty of nature. It includes the largest portion of Lake Massabesic which supplies water to the surrounding communities. Schools: Auburn, Candia and Hooksett comprise SAU 15. Auburn children attend Auburn Village School for Kindergarten through eigth grades, then move to Manchester Memorial High School or Pinkerton Academy in Derry. Pinkerton serves roughly 3,100 students, making it the largest high school in New Hampshire. Pinkerton is a private school which also serves as the "public" high school (grades 9 - 12) for the communities of Derry, Hampstead, Chester, Auburn, Candia, and Hooksett. Through arrangements with the towns, each town pays the tuition for their students to attend Pinkerton.
